Diploma and Equivalency Test Preparation Registration Procedure

Important Reminder:  All students must be 18 or older

to enroll in any program at Golden Oak Adult School.

Students are required to take an assessment before enrollment.

 

Diploma Program:  Offers standards-based curriculum that allows you to earn a WASC accrediated diploma as an adult.  The program ensures that graduates acquire critical academic skills necessary to continue their education and provides the opportunity to continue achieving success in life.

 

Equivalency Test Preparation: Earning an equivalency certificate from the State of California may be an alternative to getting your diploma.  You now have more options than ever by taking and passing either the GED or HiSET exams.  In order to help you prepare, we offer test preparation courses designed to assist students in acquiring the skills necessary to pass all sections of the GED and HiSET exams; required for students to earn their Equivalency certificate.

 

Enrollment Process for Diploma

and Equivalency Test Preparation Program

 

For New Diploma Students: You must complete all three steps outlined below.

For New Equivalency Students:  You must complete Step 1 and 2.

For Previous or Returning Students: Please proceed directly to Step 2.

 

Step 1: Online Registration (this is not enrollment)

 

Step 2: Academic Interest Form

  • Please complete the Academic Interest Form.
    • Link to Academic Interest Form.  You will receive a confirmation email. (Check SPAM and junk mail.)
    • CRITICAL: Submitting this form multiple times will erase your previous entry and remove you from the waitlist.
    • To update your contact information, please email us at [email protected].

 

Step 3: Official Transcript Submission

  • You are required to provide official, sealed transcripts from grades 9 through 12.
  • Additionally, please submit any official transcripts you may have from Community Colleges or Trade Schools.
  • Do not open the transcripts. They must remain in their original sealed envelope.

 

How to Submit Your Transcripts:

    • Email (Directly from Previous School): Have your previous school(s) email your official transcripts directly to [email protected].
    • Transcript Services: You can request your previous school(s) to send transcripts through services like Parchment directly to Golden Oak Adult School.
    • Mail:  Official, sealed transcripts can be mailed to:

    • Drop-Off: You may drop off sealed transcripts in the mailbox located on our main gate.

 

What Happens Next?

Once you have completed all the necessary enrollment steps, you will be contacted via email to schedule your intake appointment for your required assessment. If you have not finished all the required steps, you will not be contacted for an appointment.  After this assessment appointment, you will schedule a meeting with the counselor to get enrolled in your class.
