Learn to provide direct patient care in physicians' offices, urgent care, and other ambulatory settings. This course teaches medical terminology and clinical skills including phlebotomy, injections, monitoring vital signs, and minor surgical procedures. CPR certification is included.

Students who complete the course requirements will receive a certificate and be eligible to take the National Healthcare Association (NHA) Certificated Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam. The exam fee is included in the course fee. Students may choose to participate in an optional externship.

Additional fees associated with the course (approximately $150): students are required to purchase the NHA CCMA SkillsBuilder and CCMA practice exams and wear uniform scrubs in any color or pattern.

Prerequisite: High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED/HiSET)

Completion of class does not guarantee employment. Earning a CMAA and CCMA certification is highly recommended for entering the medical field.
